1.Short summary of your book
2. Ask someone a comprehension question about their book.
A few people in academia disagree that SSR is a good practice in our schools. What might you say to them to give evidence to the contrary?
1. Answer the question above.
2. Give a short summary of what's going on with the main character or theme to the book.
Review where you are in the book. Discuss the main points or themes in the book. If you had to convince one person in our class to read your book, who would it be and why?
First, complete the activity on the Jamboard. Jamboard Activity
The Jamboard Activity is where you discuss your book. Answer the questions. There are three total slides. The slide bar is at the top. Click on the square post it note on the left side of the Jamboard and answer the questions based on your book.
Jamboard is no longer supported by Google, so this activity could be duped.
Second, how would you change this activity so that it looks the same and asks the students to do the same thing, but not on Jamboard? (this is the question you answer on this blog post in the comments.)
Respond to two classmates comments on the blog post only. No need to respond on the Jamboard.
SSR is being added to schools across the nation in Middle and High School. Practices that encourage SSR are list below as a resource for you.
